In a recent media interview, Chelsea's Thiago Silva clarified that he didn't make the choice to step away from the national team; he simply hasn't received a call-up.
Silva expressed, "I never took the decision to retire from the Brazilian national team. If the Brazilian Football Federation reaches out, I am ready to serve at any time. However, I have yet to receive any such notification. If they believe I can contribute to the team, I will wholeheartedly give my best."
"If I don't have the opportunity to represent the national team again, I will continue to fulfill my responsibilities at Chelsea. The Premier League is renowned as the world's top league, and I find it truly delightful to compete here. Our performance last season was subpar, but we aim to turn things around in the upcoming season."
Thiago Silva, aged 39, has participated in all eight of Chelsea's matches this season.
